| Who We Are & What We Do The Evansville Initiative is an organization devoted to identifying, researching, encouraging, and pursuing alternative energy implementations in south-central Wisconsin. Comprised of many different people involved in local businesses, academic institutions, and municipal government, our organization serves as an outstanding example of community leaders coming together to improve the environment and lifestyles of their locale. The Evansville Initiative was formed in 2001, by the Evansville Community Partnership planning committee, after voters approved a $25.5 million referendum for a new high school that incorporated an energy-efficient geothermal heating system. |
