Throughout all of September we will be offering chances for you to get out and join others in committing to the September Fitness Challenge! Please
~~check back daily~~ as we plan and organize events. September 8th - (tentative) Madison resident Adam Greene will share his success story of how getting out of his car and onto his bike more often led to him losing 100 lbs. A local Evansville woman will also share her story of hwo she lost 100 lbs. by walking. We plan to have local health experts on hand to conduct blood presure and body fat measurements. September 10th - Evansville High School will be encouraging football fans to use active transportation. People who walk, bike, or carpool to the games will recieve a balloon with the High School color to display in the stands. September 14th - K-2 grade school students at Levi Leonard Elementary School will attend a school assembly to learn about bicycle safety and walking safety. September 17th - Evansville Hich School will again be encouraging football fans to use active transportation. People who walk, bike, or carpool to the games will recieve a balloon with the High School color to display in the stands. September 22nd - This day is International Car-Free Day. On this day Evansville Mayor Janis Ringland will challenge Madison Mayor Dave Cieslewicz to a duel between the two cities as the Madison Environmental Group launches their two-week Car-Free Car-Light campaign. From September 23rd until the 29th the two cities will see which cna average the most car trips reduced per participant. Get
